  • If I could wear these black leggings every day, I most definitely would.

It's official. 1/2 way! And I'm beginning to recycle elements of the 30 for 30. You've seen this top worn in a totally different way HERE.
This vest was previously paired with a black dress HERE.
And these boots, that belt, and those leggings would be worn every single day if I had anything to say about it. But alas, I do not. Life (& my job) dictates a different outfit for every day.

A former student of my father, friend of the family, and freelance photographer, Danny Virasawmi, came to visit. We chatted about photography, did some test shots, and he took a bunch of outfit pics for me! I think they're great!
I think I fake looking warm pretty well. It was well into the 30's and I was covered in goosebumps! But anything to get the perfect shot.

Danny is a professional freelance photographer located in central New Jersey.
Stay tuned for 2 more posts from his photo shoot with me & his contact info!

10 MUST HAVES for Your Fall Wardrobe

Back by popular demand! I've been receiving a lot of questions and requests lately about how to build up your Fall Wardrobe and what is in style. I posted this back in August, but now that the weather has turned chillier, people are hustling to the stores to find something to keep them warm and fashionable.

Here are the top 10 Must Haves for Fall.
1. Funky flats
Statement shoes are all the rage! Shoes DO make the outfit. Be remembered when you use them to walk out of the room.

2. Scarves & Bracelets
Keep yourself warm and make a statement all at once with a funky scarf. Fabric covered bracelets bring a soft touch to the accessories of any outfit.
All bracelets from Etsy Shops!

3. Skinny Jeans, Ankle Length Leggings, and their love-child, JEGGINGS!

4. Soldier Style
When done subtly, this style makes a bold impact.

5. The Tote
Use it for school, use it for work, use it for play!

6. COLOR!
Just because it isn't summer does not mean that dark and dreary colors rule. Just switch from cool pastels to warm, bold hues.

7. Statement Fall Jacket

8. Flat Boots
If I could, I would have all of my shoes be flat boots.

9. Plaid Shirt Dress or Dress Shirt?
Whatever. You need one.

10. Boyfriend Blazer
These babies are selling out like crazy from everywhere! I got mine on Oldnavy.com. They are sold out in mediums and smalls in the stores the last time I checked!
Whew! You've got a lot of shopping to do to complete this list!

Leggings as Pants?

Here's the deal:
1. Crazy fruit loop striped leggings don't count as pants - just be thankful I didn't get a picture from the back.
2. Putting this on, stepping outside of your door, and wearing this in public sends the message that you want to be looked at, have attention drawn to you, and ultimately lands you a feature spot on my blog.
3. I know a lot of people may disagree with posting pictures of fashion offenders on the internet on the basis that they would never want something like this to happen to them - well I say, don't dress like this and you'll have nothing to worry about! Also, if you've made the decision to go out in public wearing this, then you've given permission for people to look at you. And, I didn't show her face.
4. The shoe/sock combo and the worn leather jacket are so unfortunate that I can't even conjure up a witty come-back.

With that said, this outfit raises the issue of wearing leggings as your pant alternative. What do you think? Can it be done? Obviously, this woman isn't doing it right at all, however, it is a very popular look among teens and young women.
I googled "leggings as pants" and there seems to be a hotbed of conversation! I even found this Facebook Group, "Leggings are NOT Pants."
This article definitely has a strong opinion about the matter.

Lovin' Leggings and Color Combos

I love my apartment building. The company we rent from prizes itself on the preservation and restoration of classic buildings in Chicago. My roommate and I joke about our hobbit apartment doors straight out of Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter.
Either way, it makes a great backdrop for my photo-ops!
I've gotten more compliments on this belt than anything else in my wardrobe and it was a gift from a grab bag at The Midwest Blogger Meet Up
The belt was generously donated by ShopRouche.com.
You can buy it here.
Photography courtesy of my awesomely patient roommate, Lisa.
